Hawaiian Massage for Pregnancy 10/15

Each day earns 6 CEUs. Full 2 day course is approved for 12 hours of continuing education for massage therapists with the NCBTMB and doulas with DONA.

Instructor Carrie Curtis has practiced pregnancy massage for over 23 years and is trained as a DONA certified birth doula with experience in both home and hospital births. No prior massage training required. This class is open to Massage Therapists, Doulas and Health Care professionals who want to acquire the skills to help provide comfort to pregnant women.

Also open to pregnant women and couples who want skills to help with prenatal comfort, labor support and post partum recovery.

All students must do a home COVID test on day 1 before class and masks will be required indoors due to the extremely close contact you will have trading massage.A gentle but effective massage for the mother to be, nurturing the whole body and targeting the areas most effected by pregnancy. In this workshop students will learn massage techniques appropriate for all stages of pregnancy as well as contraindications.



Saturday October 15 2022 11am-6pm

Anatomy, uses and contraindications for massage during pregnancy, and common complaints of pregnancy are covered in this class. You will learn massage techniques on chairs and birth balls.

Acupressure points for use in pregnancy and labor, self care and exercises to help prepare the body for birth will also be covered. You will learn a full body Hawaiian massage on floor mats so that the techniques can be adapted to the needs of the client in any setting.

Sunday October 16 2022 1pm-7:30pm

You will learn Hawaiian Massage techniques on massage tables completing a basic full body side-lying massage routine.
